2003 The Royal Society makes Philip Davies a Industrial Fellow. Dr. Philip Davies, Principal Engineer at Seawater Greenhouse was today awarded a two year Industrial Fellowship at the Royal Society. 2003 Food for thought and a glass of water. Tim Harper, the founder of CMP Clentifica, writes: “I recently met a man who builds greenhouses in the desert. Not normal greenhouses though - they don't just grow tomatoes. These ones also use solar energy and mundane materials such as polythene and cardboard to extract pure water from seawater.” 2003 A Seawater Greenhouse project has been funded by the His Majesty’s Research fund at the College of Agricultural and Marine Sciences, Sultan Qaboos Unviersity, Oman.
